Thodupuzha: In connection with World Blood Donor Day, Baby Memorial Hospital organised a special awareness and appreciation programme emphasising the life-saving importance of voluntary blood donation. The event was inaugurated by Thodupuzha CI Mr. Mahesh Kumar S., marking the hospital’s continued commitment to community health and social responsibility.
As part of the programme, regular blood donors were honoured in recognition of their invaluable contribution to saving lives. The gathering was addressed by Dr. Lt. Col. Jai Kishan K. P., CEO, Dr. Tomy Mathew, Medical Superintendent, and Dr. Ajo K. Jose, Deputy Medical Superintendent, who highlighted the critical role of blood donation in emergency and routine medical care.
An awareness session was conducted by Dr. Reenu Jose, Medical Officer, Blood Centre, who spoke on the importance of safe and regular blood donation and encouraged greater public participation.
Employees from Bheema Jewellery, Thodupuzha, and Maharani Wedding Collections actively supported the initiative by donating blood at the hospital’s Blood Centre, making the event a meaningful success in strengthening community participation in blood donation.
