Kozhikode: In a significant advancement in cardiac diagnostics, Baby Memorial Hospital, Kozhikode has launched Malabar’s first Coroventis CoroFlow Cardiovascular System, marking a new milestone in the region’s heart care capabilities. The first coronary microcirculation assessments using this advanced technology were successfully performed on December 1st, under the leadership of senior interventional cardiologist Dr. Rajesh Muralidharan.

This achievement positions BMH Kozhikode at the forefront of next-generation cardiac diagnostics, enabling deeper evaluation of coronary circulation beyond what routine angiograms can reveal.

About the Coroventis CoroFlow Cardiovascular System

The CoroFlow system is designed to assess coronary microvascular circulation, an area often missed in conventional angiography. Many patients continue to experience chest pain or cardiac symptoms despite having normal or non-significant coronary artery blockages on angiograms. CoroFlow helps identify whether these symptoms are due to true microvascular dysfunction, allowing for more accurate diagnosis and targeted care.

During the initial phase, three patients successfully underwent coronary microcirculation assessment using the CoroFlow system, marking an important step forward for cardiac care in the Malabar region.

By offering precise insights into coronary blood flow at the microvascular level, the CoroFlow system supports clinicians in making informed treatment decisions. It helps refine medical therapy, avoid unnecessary interventions, and personalise care plans based on each patient’s actual physiological condition.

The first Coroventis- supported assessments at BMH Kozhikode were led by Dr. Rajesh Muralidharan, Senior Interventional Cardiologist, whose expertise played a key role in introducing this advanced diagnostic capability to the region.
