Celebrating A Remarkable Recovery after Long Term Respiratory Support

Baby Memorial Hospital Vatakara, organized an extensive awareness programme as part of Respiratory Care Week 2025, emphasizing the importance of modern pulmonary treatments. A key highlight of the event was honoring a patient who successfully returned to a normal life after being admitted in critical condition and receiving Long Term Respiratory Support via Tracheostomy for approximately 60 days.

This remarkable recovery stands as a testament to the expert care provided in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the tireless dedication of our doctors, respiratory therapists and staff. The program featured insightful discussions on the challenges of tracheostomy care and the necessity of follow-up care, led by experts including Dr. Sibin K S and Dr. Naseep P (General Medicine), Dr. Ansar C M (Anaesthesiologist), and Pulmonologists Dr. Preena A and Dr. Fathima S Ahamed.

Marking the occasion, Mr. Nidhin Antony,  Chief Operating Officer, presented the patient with a memento as a gesture of appreciation for their resilience. The event successfully aimed to enhance public awareness about lung diseases and the advanced life saving treatments available today at BMH Vatakara.
