The Emergency Medicine Department at Baby Memorial Hospital, Kannur is a well-integrated, round-the-clock critical care unit designed to deliver rapid and effective emergency response. Equipped with cutting-edge technology and staffed by skilled emergency physicians, paramedics, and nurses, the department ensures immediate medical attention for all kinds of emergencies—from trauma and cardiac events to poisonings and infectious outbreaks.

Our emergency department is fully equipped with monitoring systems and triage protocols to ensure prioritised and efficient care. A dedicated 4-bed resuscitation bay is in place to manage life-threatening situations with speed and precision. The department also features a state-of-the-art emergency operation theatre for time-sensitive surgical interventions and a negative pressure isolation room for managing infectious cases safely.

We operate four Advanced Life Support (ALS) Mobile ICUs, manned by trained personnel, ensuring top-tier pre-hospital care and rapid patient transport. Point-of-care ultrasonography and immediate access to imaging and lab services empower our team to make swift and informed decisions. In addition, we offer specialised care in toxicology with a snakebite treatment unit, poison information services, and a dedicated decontamination room for chemical exposures.
