The Neurointervention and Neuroradiology Department at Baby Memorial Hospital plays a critical role in the management of stroke and neurovascular emergencies, where rapid and expert care is essential to minimise brain damage and improve recovery outcomes. The Neurointervention & Stroke Centre at Baby Memorial Hospital is the first in Kerala and the second in India to be accredited as an Advanced Stroke Centre by QAI-CAHSC, reflecting strict compliance with international standards.

This 24/7 unit is equipped with advanced CT/MRI imaging, emergency thrombolysis, mechanical thrombectomy, and comprehensive neuro-ICU support. Neurointervention procedures including aneurysm coiling, AVM embolisation, and carotid stenting are seamlessly integrated into the stroke care pathway to ensure timely and effective treatment.

A dedicated multidisciplinary team works collaboratively from the emergency phase through rehabilitation, enabling early detection, accurate diagnosis, and targeted treatment strategies focused on reducing long-term disability. By combining modern technologies with patient-focused protocols, the department delivers evidence-based, time-sensitive interventions that significantly enhance stroke survival rates and improve functional recovery.
