Overview
The Department of Paediatric Surgery at Baby Memorial Hospital provides specialised surgical care for children, ranging from newborns to adolescents, addressing both congenital and acquired conditions. The team manages a wide spectrum of cases, from routine procedures to complex interventions, including neonatal emergencies and minimally invasive surgeries, ensuring precise, safe, and age-appropriate care.
Working in close coordination with Paediatrics, Neonatology, Anaesthesiology, and Radiology, the department delivers comprehensive care from diagnosis through post-operative recovery. Surgeries are performed in dedicated paediatric operating theatres with continuous monitoring in PICU and NICU. Conditions treated include gastrointestinal malformations, urological disorders, thoracic anomalies, and paediatric tumours, with a child-focused approach that prioritises comfort, recovery, and support for families throughout the treatment journey.
