The Department of Diagnostic Services at Baby Memorial Hospital, Kannur, is a comprehensive, state-of-the-art unit committed to delivering accurate and timely diagnostic support across multiple medical specialties.

The department includes specialized sections such as Haematology, Clinical Pathology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Serology, Molecular Diagnostics, Histopathology, and Cytology — working together to ensure high-precision testing that supports early diagnosis, effective treatment, and ongoing disease monitoring.

Our laboratories are fully automated and equipped with modern diagnostic technologies, enabling high-throughput and reliable results. We conduct a full range of routine tests as well as advanced special investigations, maintaining strict quality control protocols throughout.

The department holds NABL accreditation for Molecular Testing and is also ICMR-approved, reaffirming our adherence to national standards in lab medicine. In our commitment to advancing care, we are also in the process of launching a dedicated Immunohistochemistry Unit, which will provide valuable support in the diagnosis and treatment planning for various cancers.

To enhance patient convenience, our “Lab at Door” service allows sample collection from home, making high-quality diagnostics accessible to patients who may find it difficult to visit the hospital.
